A new spirit song was written by the most unexpected of people: a high school commit from Bendigo, Victoria who has yet to enroll at Leafa College and will not do so until this January. The new song was approved by the Leafa College Associated Students today. The song is called "Leafa Boys Are Still Number One!" or "LeBAStiNO!" for short.

Written by Shae Katou-Aki, a Leafa Spirit quarterback who, at the time, was still finishing high school, the song "Leafa Boys Are Still Number One" was written after Katou-Aki, the son of Tomoya Aki and Megumi Katou, committed to the Spirit football program. It is a song/chant based off of an old Civil War song called "When Johnny Comes Marching Home" and the Melbourne Victory Blue and White Brigade's chant "Melbourne Boys Are Still No. 1." The song lyrics can also be changed to accommodate the women's teams, but this is primarily a Leafa Spirit Gridiron Song.

When Leafa's marching home again, hurrah! hurrah!
We'll give an Aussie welcome then, hurrah! hurrah!
The men will cheer, the women will shout
And everyone will all turn out,
Leafa Boys Are Still Number One!

The victory bells will peal with joy, hurrah! hurrah!
To welcome home the Leafa boys, hurrah! hurrah!
The Canberra blokes and sheilas say
That Leafa Town will win the day,
Leafa Boys Are Still Number One!

The championship is rolling in, hurrah! hurrah!
The day is here, the dream begins, hurrah! hurrah!
All hail the green and gold and white,
We'll go all in, we're out to fight,
Leafa Boys Are Still Number One!

The best since twenty forty five, hurrah, hurrah!
We keep the faith and hope alive, hurrah, hurrah!
No matter where we are and roam,
This is our alma mater home,
Leafa Boys Are Still Number One!

Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na,
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na,
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na,
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na,
LEAFA BOYS ARE STILL NUMBER ONE!
