At Spirit Senior Day 2075, Dan Harding's Leafa College Spirit gridiron seemed to be on the ropes by the end of halftime, leading by just two major scores. Turns out, the lads were doing a little rope-a-dope on the San Jose State Spartans as they smashed the visitors in the second half en route to a convincing 118-38 rout at Yunupingu Field in Canberra, ACT. Freshman quarterback Shae Katou-Aki passed for 302 yards, ran for 331 yards and scored eight touchdowns on offence. Cornerback Billy Ooji, one of a plethora of fourth-years on the list, recorded 14 tackles, two tackles for loss and three interceptions.

Halfback Jackson Tatara ran for 393 yards and five touchdowns, wide receiver Connor Yasaka caught two passes for 105 yards and a couple of majors, tight end Tom Arashi caught three passes for 94 yards and a score, wide receiver Xavier Kim had 28 pancakes and wideout Dayne Tsunashi had 19 pancakes in what can be considered an average blowout by the team's ultra-high, ultra-strict standards, no more, no less.

On defence, middle linebacker Roy Hanamura had 25 tackles including six for a loss, defencive tackle Levi Iori had two sacks, free safety Jay Madanbashi had 18 tackles and four other players on defense had at least 10 tackles, with three garnering 14 apiece. Four other different players on defence also recorded an interception, aside from Ooji.

Leafa improve to 10-0 and will hit the road next week to take on the San Diego State Aztecs.
