Halfback Jack Fukushina, a first-year phenom, had his breakout game rushing for 561 yards and nine touchdowns as Dan Harding's Leafa College Spirit destroyed the Colorado State Rams, 139-17. Cornerback Geronimo Hikigaya had nine tackles, a tackle for loss and an interception to lead the Spirit defence. Quarterback Shae Katou-Aki ran for 261 yards, passed for 163 yards and scored eight touchdowns on offence.

In terms of blocking, wide receiver Jarryd Kaizuka led the way with 29 pancakes while wide receiver Jiji Petricca had 12 and right tackle/converted right end Tove Lo had 11. Fifth-year cornerback Sebastian Kamiya had 12 tackles to lead the defence in tackling. Kieran Hyakuya and Steele Craftman each had three sacks, while Gilles Troyard and Wes Narukami each had two. Maynard Nakiri-Wiles returned an interception 34 yards for a major late in the contest.

"We have a difficult road trip coming up in the next two weeks," said Coach Harding after the match. "We won't rush Brett [Inohara] into action so we won't have him on the plane for our final road trip. We are hoping to have him on the field for the final home stretch to close the home-and-away season but aggravating his fibula is the last thing we need since Jack's had a great game today."

Leafa improve to 8-0 and return to action next week against the Nevada Wolf Pack at Mackay Stadium in Reno, Nevada, USA.
