Quarterback Shae Katou-Aki passed for only 149 yards, but the dual-threat first-year ran for 533 yards and scored 10 total touchdowns on offence as Dan Harding's Leafa Spirit Gridiron were held to under 100 points for the first time this year. They still won, 97-17, over the San Diego State Aztecs at Jack Murphy Stadium in San Diego, California, USA. Cornerback Zach Choi led a quiet defence with five tackles, a tackle for loss, a sack and an interception.

Halfback Jackson Tatara ran for 256 yards and a touchdown, halfback Archer Hiiro ran for 96 yards, and wide receivers Tyler Aki and Dayne Tsunashi each had a touchdown reception. Wideout Connor Yasaka led the blockers with 23 pancakes, while Xavier Kim had 15 pancakes and tight end Tom Arashi had nine.

Middle linebacker Roy Hanamura led the defence in tackling with 12 tackles, including two for loss. Defensive tackle Levi Iori had four tackles and three sacks, and four other players on defence had a sack each. Overall, it was an uncharacteristic performance from the defence, forcing just three turnovers all game, but to their credit, they did hold the Aztecs to under 20 points in this match.

The regular season concludes next week for Leafa when they face the Fresno State Bulldogs at Bulldog Stadium in Fresno, California, USA. The Spirit improve to 11-0.
