More Of The Sakuradas Expected To Sign After Leafa Smash UNLV

A number of recruits associated with the Sakurada combine were on hand to watch Dan Harding's Leafa Spirit Gridiron paste UNLV at Subaru Pleiades Stadium by the tune of 178-38. Quarterback Shae Katou-Aki was a gem under center, passing for 435 yards, rushing for 168 yards and scoring 11 total touchdowns on offence. Defencively, cornerback Sebastian Kamiya was lights-out, recording seven interceptions despite just one tackle.

Halfback Jack Fukushina ran for 245 yards and seven touchdowns while catching for one more, backup quarterback Kaz Kasumigaoka ran for 117 yards and two majors, wide receiver Jiji Petricca caught nine passes for 126 yards and five scores and wideout Ledley Aki caught six passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns. Petricca also made 22 pancake blocks to lead the blockers while Aki added 18.

Cornerback Lloy Auerbach led the defence in tackling with 10 tackles and five sacks. Cornerback Vern Dahlgren and defensive end Case Tasmin-Jagger each had three sacks while free safety Hugh Otosaka had two interceptions.

The Leafa Spirit Gridiron improve to 6-0 and return to action next week against the New Mexico Lobos on the road.
