Sail! Leafa crush Nevada in offensive slugfest at home

Quarterback Shae Katou-Aki passed for 400 yards, ran for 567 yards and scored 12 total touchdowns on offence to lead Dan Harding's Leafa College Spirit Gridiron to a resounding 177-52 rout of the Nevada Wolf Pack at Yunupingu Field in Canberra, ACT. Middle linebacker Roy Hanamura had 12 tackles, four tackles for loss, a sack, a forced fumble and an interception to lead the defence.

Halfback Jackson Tatara ran for 194 yards and five touchdowns, halfback Archer Hiiro ran for 149 yards and three majors, wide receiver Dayne Tsunashi caught 11 passes for 140 yards and two scores and tight end Tom Arashi caught four passes for 89 yards and a major. Wideouts Connor Yasaka and Xavier Kim each had 18 pancake blocks to lead all blockers, while Tsunashi had 11.

Left end Sam "Yokozuna" Touzokuyama had five sacks, cornerback Luca "Night Fever" Mizushima led all tacklers with 14 tackles, free safety Jay "The Provost's Son" Madanbashi added 12 tackles and two interceptions, and five other players on defense had a pick apiece.

Leafa improve to 9-0 and conclude their home campaign next week against the San Jose State Spartans on Spirit Senior Day 2075, honoring the Class of 2075.
