Quarterback Shae Katou-Aki passed for 354 yards, ran for 410 yards and scored 14 total touchdowns on offence to lead Dan Harding's Leafa Spirit Gridiron to a 119-30 rout of the Boise State Broncos in the 2076 Mountain West Football Championship Game at Subaru Pleiades Stadium in Canberra, ACT. Middle linebacker Rhys Miyazawa had 18 tackles, a sack and two recovered fumbles to lead the defence.

Halfback Jack Fukushina ran for 270 yards and a score, wide receiver Jiji Petricca caught five passes for 114 yards and three touchdowns, wideout Ledley Aki caught five passes for 84 yards and a major and Petricca led the blockers with 23 pancakes. Tight end Max Haimura added nine pancake blocks.

On defence, left end Steele Craftman had 11 tackles and three sacks. Right end Ben Ayugase had six tackles and two sacks, while safety Geronimo "Hiki" Hikigaya and cornerback Sebastian Kamiya each had an interception. Safety Hugh Otosaka also returned a punt 76 yards for a touchdown. After the match, Katou-Aki was asked if he had done enough to win the Heisman after being passed over this year.

"I think I finally did it," said Katou-Aki. "I am excited to know that I did enough to win the voters over and that I won't have to worry about the voters deliberately picking the second-best player in college football for two years straight. I feel like a kid at Christmas. It's awesome to be a Leafa Boy."

Leafa await their opponent in the 2077 BCS Championship Game at Dolphins Stadium in Miami Beach, Fla. There is a chance that the opponent will be the LSU Tigers, the only other unbeaten team in college football. The 2077 Heisman Trophy Ceremony is scheduled for December 19, 2076 (December 18 in USA) and will be televised by ESPN in the USA and One in Australia.
