Leafa College To Face Air Force For The Mountain West Title

Dan Harding's Leafa College Spirit will look to defend their Mountain West Conference title in gridiron in two weeks after belting the Fresno State Bulldogs at Bulldog Stadium in Fresno, Calif. by the score of 136-20. Quarterback Shae Katou-Aki passed for 306 yards, rushed for 557 yards and 13 total touchdowns on offence. Right outside linebacker Geronimo Hikigaya had six tackles, a sack and two interceptions to lead the defence.

Halfback Brett Inohara ran for 229 yards and seven major scores, Ace Kurogane had 73 rushing yards and two touchdowns, wide receiver Jarryd Kaizuka had six catches for 80 yards, wideout Touma Yukihira had 10 pancake blocks and tight end Anthony Kagurazaka had seven pancake blocks to pace the offence in support.

Gilles Troyard led the defence in tackling with 13 tackles and two sacks. Rhys Miyazawa, Leafa's leading middle linebacker, also had 13 tackles and two sacks, while Vern Dahlgren had 11 tackles and a pick. All in all, Leafa's pass defence had six interceptions, adding to their gaudy takeaway margin, considered to be the best in college football.

Tickets for the 2077 Mountain West Conference Football Championship Game are officially sold out. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. AEDT.
